Norse Peak Wilderness area

He does get out a few times each year.)

The editor and packing friends, the Loziers, enjoying a hot breakfast
on a cold mountain morning. Llamas allow one to bring
two-burner stoves, chairs, lanterns, and REAL food.

William O. Douglas Wilderness

Crossing a bridge over the highway, heading south to Dewey Lake
in the William O. Douglas Wilderness.

Dewey Lake, a beautiful 2.5 miles from a very popular trailhead.

One of the gazillion meadows in the Douglas Wilderness.
Mount Rainier pokes her beautiful head up everywhere.

There are also some dramatic trails
often with a view of Mount Rainier.

This is Shelby, Pat, Gary and Sitka.
But notice that Pat has her own little pack in front of her.
They hiked the Washington Pacific Crest Trail
with the llama carrying all their gear and lots of diapers beside.
